Support Coach

Position (Part-Time): Support Coach

 

At Community West, we believe in the importance of developing individual capacities in a professional team setting. We are looking for an individual who is open to learning about various integrative treatments from a psychodynamic and pluralistic (CBT, DBT, & ACT) orientation. The culture at CW encourages dialogue with the CW founders and other licensed therapists who work in various theoretical orientations. Confidential communication is an essential skill for all CW team members--discussing specific cases is for the benefit of the participant and assurance in providing quality and consistent care. Additionally, team meetings are required and involve conversing about clinical culture in the client milieu and learning/training in various psychotherapeutic orientations. At CW, the work environment fosters an encouraging and supportive atmosphere amongst team members.

 

Duties:

  • Comfortable working with adolescents and young adults
  • Participating in psychotherapy groups and recreational activities with clients
  • Supporting treatment for OCD, anxiety, etc. (ERP, mindfulness, etc.)
  • Being a therapeutic presence
  • Setting boundaries and modeling adaptive behaviors
  • Taking initiative to foster a safe and therapeutic environment for clients
  • Helping with some administrative tasks

 

 

Required:

  • Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccine + booster
  • Previous experience in a mental health setting and/or related treatment setting
  • Previous experience with adolescence and young adults
  • Interest in pursuing a career in mental health treatment

 

What We Offer:

  • Twice weekly group-training will be provided by licensed clinicians
  • Weekly individual/triadic supervision provided by licensed clinicians
  • Opportunity to earn clinical hours quickly (individual, group, child and family)
  • Learning opportunities (Group, ERP, CBT, ACT, Mentalization, and Psychodynamic Therapy) taught by experienced therapists
  • The chance to grow as a clinician with a developing treatment program
  • Morning/daytime positions available (M – F, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
  • Afternoon/early evening positions available (M – F, 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM)

 

Commitments:

  • Minimum commitment of 20-35 hours per week
  • Minimum commitment of 4-5 workdays per week (M-F)
  • Must attend mandatory weekly supervision in person or on Zoom
