
Environmental Permitting Specialist
Environmental Permitting Specialist. Location: Newark, NJ. This job is posted by Global SustainabilityJobs List, on the behalf of AECOM careers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead environmental permitting processes, including Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 404/401 and NJDEP permits.
- Conduct environmental assessments, including wetlands delineation, habitat surveys, and ecological impact studies.
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies for permit approvals;
- Manage project tasks, including budget oversight, client communication, and subcontractor coordination.
- Prepare technical reports, regulatory applications, and compliance documentation;
- Assist in business development, including proposal preparation and client outreach.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or a related field.
- 6+ years of environmental permitting experience;
- Valid driver’s license & ability to travel for fieldwork.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred:
- Extensive experience with NJ & Mid-Atlantic environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in GIS & technical report writing;
- Experience in ecological assessments for utilities & renewable energy projects;
- OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification.
- Strong communication & leadership skills.
