The GIS Technician I or II performs work to support all departments with their Geographic Information System (GIS) needs, provide training and end user support for GIS for the Utilities Services Admin Department.

Minimum Qualifications
GIS Technician I
- Graduation from high school or GED
- Valid NC driver’s license and good driving record
- Graduation from an appropriately accredited technical school with an associate degree in GIS/Geography or related field
- Three years of experience with GIS and Global Positioning System (GPS) concepts and applications
- Valid NC driver’s license and good driving record
- Bachelor's Degree related to Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Computer Science or related field; and GIS computer systems work experience or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
- Prior GIS work experience required
- Experience managing projects, business process analysis, and complex software applications including web-based applications preferred
- Considerable directly related experience with GIS and Global Positioning System (GPS) concepts and applications;
- Experience with Javascript, Python, or SQL preferred
- Ability to work regularly;
- An equivalent combination of education or experience may be considered.
- Valid NC driver’s license and good driving record.
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Paid bi-weekly.
