GIS Intern
Description
Are you passionate about Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and eager to gain hands-on experience in the field? We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented GIS Intern to join our team. This internship offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge GIS technologies and contribute to meaningful projects with the City of Grand Forks. GIS or Geography majors preferred. EEO Employer.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the collection, analysis, and visualization of geographic data.
- Support the development and maintenance of GIS databases.
- Conduct spatial analysis and generate maps to support decision-making.
- Create and manage GIS data layers for a variety of projects.
- Perform quality control and data validation tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to identify and solve GIS-related challenges.
- Prepare and present reports or presentations on GIS projects.
Examples of Duties
TIME & DURATION
Up to 20 hours during Spring and Fall semesters
20-40 hours during Summer.
ELIGIBILITY
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited College or University as a full or part-time student.
- Has a current minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Able to work 40 hours per week in summer.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- You are able to be a team player.
