Atlantis Project with UNICEF

This fully-funded Atlantis Service-Research Project (SRP) is a full-time experiential learning opportunity with UNICEF from December 11 to December 22, 2021. Students will be working in Geneva, Switzerland on a real project with members of UNICEF management and administration. Our Geneva program partners with UNICEF to give students, specifically those interested in healthcare, a learning experience that exposes them to the important work of one of the most relevant healthcare organizations in the world.

All Atlantis SRPs involve data-driven research, developing problem-solving frameworks, and communicating possible answers to high-level questions that the organization is facing. This organization in particular (UNICEF) supports child health and nutrition, safe water and sanitation, quality education and skill-building, HIV prevention and treatment for mothers and babies, and the protection of children and adolescents from violence and exploitation. UNICEF is on the ground before, during, and after humanitarian emergencies, and over the past 75 years, they have been leading advocates for the rights of children. Projects are never focused on questions that leverage subject-matter expertise (i.e., the kind you’d have as an MD or a proven hospital administrator or a Ph.D. in something like Public Health). Service-Research Projects simply leverage smarts and a willingness to contribute to a great team and project, analyzing, researching, and presenting insights to management.

Atlantis SRPs are typically experiential learning programs with associated participant fees. However, Atlantis is recruiting exceptional students via Handshake to whom we'd like to extend an offer of a full scholarship to participate. We have begun offering SRPs over the last year, and we want to spread awareness of these programs by giving highly competitive, fully-funded placements to select students.

Please see the Geneva UNICEF Project page on our website for more program-specific information. If you'd like to be considered for full funding of this experiential learning program, apply through Handshake and feel free to disregard the application on the website. For more information on all of our SRPs (we also offer projects with Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC; Roche in Barcelona, Spain; and the San Matteo Hospital in Pavia, Italy), go to the Service-Research Projects page on our website. Here you'll also find past project examples and an alumna's perspective. To learn more about Atlantis hospital shadowing opportunities (different from SRPs), click here.
