About Us
RelationshipStore Counseling & Coaching Center is an established private practice providing individual, couples, and family counseling.
We believe that the experience of seeking counseling begins long before someone meets with a therapist. From the first phone call, text, or website inquiry, we want people to feel welcomed, understood, respected, and confident that they've reached the right place.
We're looking for someone who can help us keep tat happening.
About the Position
We're seeking a warm, personable, organized, and dependable individual to coordinate all aspects of our new-client intake process.
You'll be the primary point of contact for people interested in our counseling services, helping them navigate the process of finding the right therapist and getting started.
This is an important role in our practice. We're not simply looking for someone to answer phones or schedule appointments. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, communicates exceptionally well, and takes pride in making every interaction a positive one.
This position may be particularly appealing to a psychology, social work, counseling, or human services student interested in gaining experience in a professional mental health setting. However, we welcome applicants from other backgrounds who have the right interpersonal and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
Respond promptly and professionally to all prospective-client inquiries received by phone, text, email, and our website.
Speak with prospective clients in a warm, compassionate, and reassuring manner.
Help individuals, couples, and families understand our services and the process of beginning counseling.
Coordinate appropriate therapist matches based on client needs, preferences, and clinician availability.
Schedule initial appointments and communicate appointment details.
Maintain accurate, up-to-date intake records and track pending inquiries.
Follow up with prospective clients who have not yet scheduled.
Coordinate with therapists and administrative staff regarding availability and scheduling.
Answer general questions about fees, insurance participation, and office procedures, referring more complex questions to the appropriate staff member.
Help identify ways to continually improve our client intake experience.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who is:
Naturally warm, friendly, compassionate, and professional.
An excellent communicator, especially over the phone.
Highly organized and attentive to details.
Dependable, punctual, and able to manage responsibilities independently.
Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, scheduling systems, and other office technology.
Able to follow through consistently and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
Respectful of confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Comfortable interacting with people who may be anxious, upset, or experiencing difficult personal circumstances.
Willing to learn and receptive to feedback.
Previous experience in mental health, healthcare, reception, scheduling, or customer service is helpful but not required.
Students pursuing psychology, social work, counseling, or related degrees are encouraged to apply.
Schedule
This is a part-time position averaging approximately 10–15 hours per week.
We offer the possibility of a hybrid schedule, combining in-office work at our Burr Ridge/Willowbrook location with remote work. Initial training will take place in person.
We're open to discussing a consistent schedule that accommodates school commitments while meeting the needs of our practice.
Why Join RelationshipStore?
You'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced mental health professionals, learn about the operations of a counseling practice, and play a meaningful role in helping people access care.
We value kindness, professionalism, initiative, and people who take pride in their work.
Most importantly, you'll be helping create the kind of welcoming experience that can make reaching out for counseling a little easier.
