Pay: $3500-$7500/month

Schedule: weekday afternoons and/or weekends

About A Plus One Academy: A Plus One Academy is a tutoring center in Irvine, CA, supporting students in core academics, test preparation, and college readiness. We work closely with students and families to build clear academic plans, track progress, and prepare students for the next stage of their education.

What You Will Do:

• Meet with students and families to assess academic strengths, goals, and areas for improvement 
• Create individualized academic plans, including course selection, study plans, tutoring support, and extracurricular planning 
• Track student grades, progress, and milestones, and adjust plans as needed 
• Guide high school students on college readiness, including course rigor, testing timelines, and application planning 
• Guide elementary/middles school students for private school applications 
• Help families understand U.S. high school requirements and college application timelines 
• Coordinate with teachers and tutors at the center to align academic support with each student's plan 
• Communicate regularly with families about progress, next steps, and upcoming deadlines

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus 
• Experience in academic counseling, college advising, tutoring, or student mentoring preferred 
• Bilingual English–Mandarin ability for communicating with students and Mandarin-speaking parents 
• Knowledge of U.S. high school curriculum and college admissions, including UC / CSU and private university pathways, preferred 
• Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills 
• Patient, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with students and parents 
• Able to work on a consistent weekly schedule

Preferred, Not Required

• Prior experience as an academic counselor, general counselor, or college planner 
• Experience with college essays, applications, and interview preparation 
• Familiarity with AP coursework, standardized testing, and extracurricular planning
