Advanced Clinical Social Work Fellowship
Two-Year Post-MSW Advanced Clinical Social Work Fellowship
The Yale Child Study Center (YCSC) is pleased to
offer a two-year full-time Advanced Clinical Social
Work Fellowship from July 1st through June 30th
of the respective years. The mission of this
training program is to advance clinical
competency, professionalism, and leadership in
the practice area of clinical social work.
The goal of the program is to advance the clinical
practice of social work by preparing early-career
practitioners with the advanced knowledge and
skills necessary to deliver quality clinical
interventions to children, youth, and families, while
fostering the next generation of leaders in the field.
Grounded in the YCSC’s commitment to fostering a
welcoming environment conducive to sustaining
and attracting range of backgrounds and
experiences, the program aims to develop
knowledge, self-awareness, and skills needed for
Social Work Fellows to engage in clinical practice
that ensures fair treatment, opportunities, and
rights for all people, in accordance with the NASW
Code of Ethics.
Social Work Fellows will participate in a variety of
multi-disciplinary and discipline-specific training
including didactics, intensive supervision, and
direct practice, with engagement in an elective
project and/or area of specialization in the second
year of the training program. Direct practice
occurs in either the Intensive Child and Adolescent
Psychiatric Services In-Home Program (IICAPS) or
the Outpatient Youth Services.
As of 2026, the program provides a
$45,600 annual stipend plus full
benefits for First Year fellows with an
annually determined increase in 2nd

through the Yale Health Plan is available
at a nominal fee. Additionally, fellows
receive a $3,000 professional
development allowance in the first year
and $4,000 in the second year which
fellows may choose as funding for
licensure exam preparation.
