The Youth Care Specialist is responsible for providing direct care and support to youth in a residential or community-based setting. This role involves working closely with young people to promote their social, emotional, and behavioral development.
What you'll do:- Provide direct supervision and support to youth in the program- Implement individualized treatment and behavior support plans- De-escalate crisis situations using trauma-informed approaches- Document and maintain accurate records of youth progress and incidents- Collaborate with case managers, therapists, and family members- Facilitate group activities and life skills development- Transport youth to appointments and community activities as needed- Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
About you:- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field preferred- Experience working with at-risk youth, children, or in child welfare settings preferred- Strong communication, de-escalation, and problem-solving skills- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays- Must pass background check and drug screening- Valid driver's license required
