Role Description

The Behavioral Technician is a part-time, community-based position serving the San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas. This role involves implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or clinical supervisor. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing direct 1:1 support to individuals, teaching adaptive and life skills, facilitating social skills development, and collecting accurate data on behaviors and progress. Behavioral Technicians collaborate with families and multidisciplinary team members, participate in team meetings, and maintain clear, professional documentation. The role also includes supporting parent training sessions, following safety protocols, and contributing to a positive, inclusive, and person-centered environment.

Location

This is a community-based, on-site position serving clients throughout the San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas, including Woodland Hills, Sherman Oaks, Calabasas, and Santa Clarita. Behavioral Technicians travel to client homes and community settings based on assigned cases and scheduling needs.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of Behavior Analysis and Applied Behavior Analysis, with the ability to implement behavior support plans consistently.
• Strong communication skills for interacting professionally with individuals, families, supervisors, and multidisciplinary team members, including clear documentation and reporting.
• Experience or training in behavioral intervention, including de-escalation strategies and reinforcement-based approaches.
• Background or coursework in psychology, behavioral science, child development, education, or a related field preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree is required.
• Ability to follow clinical guidance, collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, and maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Comfort with active, hands-on work in community and home settings and the ability to provide physical assistance when required by an individual's support plan.
• Experience supporting neurodivergent individuals or individuals with developmental disabilities is strongly preferred; Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is a plus.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to client homes and community-based locations within assigned service areas are required.
