About us:
Dr. O'Grady's Resilience Village is a private outpatient mental health clinic in Orem, Utah. We serve children, adolescents, adults of all ages, and families navigating neurodiversity, trauma, relational concerns, grief, and a wide range of mental health disorders. Our care is trauma-informed and research-based. We model that approach for our interns to help them build real cultural competency.

Why intern with us:
You won't do this alone. We hire interns in cohorts of 3-6 on purpose. Students thrive when peers are going through the process alongside them, and a cohort gives you a built-in support system from day one.
Structured, tiered clinical support. Our supervision and consultation framework brings together fully licensed clinicians, provisionally licensed clinicians, and graduate student interns who all learn together. Our weekly clinical case consultation meeting is open to every level of licensure, so you'll hear a range of clinical perspectives beyond your individual supervisor's approach.
Breadth of clinical experience. You'll have the opportunity to work with clients across the lifespan (children, adolescents, adults, and families) and a wide variety of presenting concerns.
A multi-year professional development path. Our mentorship extends beyond your internship hour requirements. We aim to help you build the clinical skills, caseload diversity, and professional identity you'll need well beyond graduation. Many past interns have stayed on with us as provisionally licensed therapists and later as fully licensed staff.
What you'll do:
- Carry an individual caseload that builds gradually from shadowing and co-therapy to about 8-10 clients per week
- Work with individuals across age groups, and possibly families or couples
- Co-facilitate or lead at least one group
- Conduct intake assessments, risk screenings, and diagnostic evaluations
- Write treatment plans and progress notes
- Participate in the weekly clinical case consultation meeting
- Other professional practice activities
Training and supervision
- Weekly individual or triadic supervision with a fully licensed Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Mental Health Counselor who meets Utah supervisor requirements
- Weekly clinical case consultation with licensed, provisionally licensed, and graduate student interns
- Session recording permitted for supervision and coursework, with client consent
- Site supervisor available to complete university evaluations, hour logs, and liaison meetings
- We're happy to review your program's specific hour and direct-contact requirements
- We’re happy to fill the role of secondary site for students looking for a broader range of experience, or whose primary sites are unable to fulfill direct client hour program requirements
Who we're looking for
- Graduate students in a CACREP accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Clinical/Counseling Psychology program
- Eligible to begin practicum or internship
- Able to commit 15-20 hours per week, including some afternoon and/or evening availability (4:00-8:00 pm)
- Interest in neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed care
- Curious, collaborative, and open to feedback
Logistics
- Primarily in person at our Orem office; telehealth and remote participation as needed
- Office space, therapy resources, and play room provided
- Interns carry their own professional liability insurance; proof required before starting
- Reliable transportation required
Compensation
- Internship I interns are reimbursed at $15/hour.
- Internship II interns are reimbursed at $20/hour.
- Unpaid, credit-bearing educational hours are available as needed per program requirements
