Full Time AmeriCorps position requiring a minimum of 1720 hours. The position begins January 12, 2027 and ends December 10, 2027.

This position is part of the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board AmeriCorps (VHCB AmeriCorps). The VHCB AmeriCorps program supports the innovative dual-goal approach of creating stable affordable housing opportunities for Vermont residents while preserving the natural and working landscape. VHCB AmeriCorps is a national service program that places members with non-profit housing or land conservation organizations around the state. 

Groundworks Collaborative, mission is to provide food in a welcoming, low- barrier environment to people in the community who are experiencing any level of food insecurity. Additionally, we are committed to participating in fresh produce rescue to help decrease overall food waste in our region. 

The Operations and Services Aid will be responsible for collaborating with the team during day-to-day operations during and outside of open hours. The goal of this position is to support Foodworks to expand community partnerships, improve volunteer and program coordination, and enhance community outreach and connection to our services. These efforts help Foodworks operate more effectively and increase its long-term ability to serve the community.

Essential Functions

• Assist with Fresh Rescue donation sorting: pick up donated foods from local grocery stores, weigh produce, sort and organize donations
• Daily opening prep
• Fill open hours roles as needed based on volunteer engagement 
• Maintain our current community partnerships 
• Network to connect and build new partnerships
• Connect and grow relationships with volunteers and shoppers
• Participate in an Independent Service Project under the guidance of VHCB AmeriCorps.
• Participate in all VHCB AmeriCorps Program Initiatives & outreach efforts, and storytelling activities that promote AmeriCorps.
• Engage in professional and personal development activities and networking opportunities. 
• Submit bi-weekly timesheets.
• Complete all enrollment and exit requirements.
