Full Time AmeriCorps position requiring a minimum of 1720 hours. The position begins January 12, 2027 and ends December 10, 2027.
This position is part of the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board AmeriCorps (VHCB AmeriCorps). The VHCB AmeriCorps program supports the innovative dual-goal approach of creating stable affordable housing opportunities for Vermont residents while preserving the natural and working landscape. VHCB AmeriCorps is a national service program that places members with non-profit housing or land conservation organizations around the state.
The Champlain Housing Trust is a community land trust that supports the people of northwest Vermont and strengthens their communities through the development and stewardship of permanently affordable homes and related community assets.
This position, through outreach, client engagement and survey analysis, will expand CHT's community reach, and curate meaningful program enhancements to ensure clients achieve their homeownership goals. The Homeownership Engagement Coordinator will build an outreach campaign targeted at expanding CHT's presence in the community. This position will assist clients through CHT's programs, tracking client turnover, outcomes, and client feedback, providing meaningful analysis that will better CHT homeownership programs.
Essential Functions
- Provide information to our community about financial education, shared equity homeownership and special loan programs.
- Oversee the distribution and collection of education and homeowner client surveys. Provide running analysis of client feedback.
- Manage and oversee focus groups for past and future education clients; compile feedback into tangible program recommendations.
- Develop and implement outreach initiatives with community partners.
- Co-facilitate workshops, presentations and groups; coordinate event logistics, update and prepare workshop materials and forms, site setup, inform partners, community members and customers of events and education opportunities.
- Support clients one-on-one to help them engage with programs and services; this may include helping people access technology or other resources.
- Assist clients with applications (e.g. for shared equity homeownership, home repair loans, etc.), information gathering and document uploads.
- Participate in CHT events, celebrations, staff meetings and trainings on a wide array of topics such as de-escalation, fair housing, etc.
- Participate in an Independent Service Project under the guidance of VHCB AmeriCorps.
- Participate in all VHCB AmeriCorps Program Initiatives & outreach efforts, and storytelling activities that promote AmeriCorps.
- Engage in professional and personal development activities and networking opportunities.
- Submit bi-weekly timesheets.
- Complete all enrollment and exit requirements.
