Clinical Assistant / Certified Orthotic Fitter
THIS IS A FULL-TIME Monday through Friday 8-5 p.m. position and we're looking for someone to start ASAP!

As a clinical assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the certified clinicians with patient care. You will need to have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety. You will also communicate with patients and their families and document their health information in our electronic health record system. The day-to-day operations of the clinic are crucial for the success of our team, and the clinical assistant optimizes the performance of all processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred
- Minimum 6 months experience in providing customer service in the following settings: sports rehab, fitness, healthcare, and medical office.
- Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures
Preferred Experience
- Allied Health Professionals (PTA, OTA, Athletic Trainer, Medical Assistant, etc.)
Knowledge and Skill
- Willingness to verify all clinical activities with certified clinical personnel
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions
- Hand skills necessary to use basic laboratory tools safely and effectively
- Knowledge of biomechanical principles
- Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills for reporting information to patient and staff
- Effective organizational skills and ability to prioritize and plan for the purpose of meeting deadlines
- Ability to work effectively as a team member
Principle Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Assist certified clinicians with patient care
- Ensure all patient procedures are performed in alignment with the certifying clinician
- Perform shipping, receiving, and monitoring of inventory
- Ordering of orthotic and prosthetic parts and materials, and ensuring items are received in a timely manner to meet required deadlines
- Prepare a room and patient for treatment
- Perform selected patient care procedures including fitting and adjustments of orthotic/prosthetic soft good items
- Provide patient follow-up for selected orthotic/prosthetic patients under direction of supervising certified clinician
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation of patient care provided
- Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment
- Adhere to all safety regulations, compliance with Medicare and other governmental regulations; compliance with bloodborne and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements
