WIC Nutrition Coordinator

Do you have a passion for nutrition, enjoy helping others and have an interest in Public Health? If so, the Monroe County Health Department has an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a WIC Nutrition Coordinator to join our team. This position offers flexibility, with the option to work between 32 and 40 hours per week. This position is in-person, with the option to move to a hybrid schedule after six months.

 

Successful candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or higher in dietetics or an approved nutrition program from an accredited college or university. Candidates must be a Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration and a Certified Dietitian with the State of Wisconsin, or must be eligible to complete the CRD examination within 6 months of hire. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of professional work experience in nutrition. Preferred candidates will have a minimum of two years of WIC program experience and will have alactation counselor, lactation specialist, or lactation educator certification. The WIC Nutrition Coordinator will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks within expected timeframes.

 

WIC staff serve women, infants, and children enrolled in the WIC program, providing nutrition counseling and education. As the WIC Nutrition Coordinator, you will provide oversight of the nutrition services portion of the WIC program, including implementing policies, overseeing nutrition staff, and assisting with program monitoring. As the WIC Nutrition Coordinator, you will assess participants’ nutritional needs, develop individualized care plans, and offer guidance on healthy eating, breastfeeding, and overall wellness. This role also includes certifying eligibility, promoting positive nutrition behaviors, placing appropriate referrals for community programs and resources, and supporting public health goals to improve maternal and child health.

 

The starting salary range for this position is $31.71 to $34.24/hr. for candidates credentialed as a Registered Dietitian. Monroe County offers an exceptional benefit package. https://www.co.monroe.wi.us/departments/human-resources/employee-benefits
