The Epilepsy Association of Western & Central PA (EAWCP) seeks a Program Coordinator to work as a front-line advocate and support for families affected by epilepsy. The role is diverse, meaningful, and community focused. supporting individuals and families impacted by epilepsy. This team member will respond to family requests for information and support, organize educational, social, fun, and meaningful programs for children and families impacted by epilepsy and support local fundraising events that sustain our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond with empathy and knowledge to families seeking help after a new epilepsy diagnosis.
- Collaborate with local healthcare providers to support the needs of pediatric patients with epilepsy.
- Lead and organize meaningful programs and family-oriented education events.
- Plan and lead engaging family events to foster peer support like picnics, holiday parties, educational webinars, and support groups.
- Represent EAWCP at community events, school programs, and awareness campaigns.
- Contribute creative ideas to our social media presence and public outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with a resolute team on organization-wide events, outreach, and advocacy.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with families of children with special needs.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Initiative-taking, able to work independently and in a team.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license required.
