Pediatric Occupational Therapist
Job Description
We are seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) for a part-time position providing pediatric occupational therapy services for Early Intervention (birth–3) and school-age students across home, school, and community settings on Long Island. This flexible part-time role is ideal for an Occupational Therapist seeking to build a caseload based on their availability and preferred service areas.
Eligible new hires will receive a $500 sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment.
The Occupational Therapist will evaluate and treat children with developmental delays, sensory processing challenges, fine motor and visual-motor deficits, and functional skill needs. This role emphasizes practical, individualized interventions that support participation in daily routines, academic tasks, and age-appropriate activities.
The Occupational Therapist will collaborate with families, educators, service coordinators, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistent and effective service delivery across environments.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans for EI and school-age students
- Provide direct occupational therapy services in home-based EI and school-based or community settings
- Address fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, play, and functional participation
- Collaborate with families, teachers, and related service providers to support carryover of skills
- Complete required documentation, including evaluations, session notes, and progress reports
- Provide consultation and strategies to caregivers and school staff as appropriate
- Maintain ethical and professional standards in accordance with New York State and AOTA guidelines
