Unwritten Endings – Youth & Family Therapy is seeking a fully licensed mental health clinician to join our established outpatient group practice serving children, adolescents, young adults, and families throughout Livingston County.

We are looking for a clinician who enjoys working with children and families, values high-quality clinical care, and wants the autonomy and earning potential of private practice without having to build and manage a practice independently.

We provide an established referral base, administrative and billing support, furnished therapy offices, play therapy materials, credentialing support, and employee benefits—allowing our clinicians to focus primarily on providing excellent clinical care.

Compensation & Full-Time Caseload

Estimated annual earnings: $100,000–$150,000+

At Unwritten Endings, 25 completed client sessions per week is considered a full-time clinical caseload. Clinicians are not expected to maintain a traditional 40-hour client-facing workweek to qualify as full-time.

Compensation is productivity-based and increases as clinicians elect to maintain larger caseloads. Based on our current payer mix and contracted reimbursement rates, clinicians maintaining approximately 25 completed sessions per week may earn around $100,000 annually, while clinicians who choose to maintain larger caseloads have the opportunity to earn $150,000+ annually.

Clinicians determine their desired caseload above the 25-session full-time minimum. Whether you prefer a more moderate full-time caseload or want to maximize your earning potential through a higher-volume schedule, our compensation structure is designed to reward productivity.

Actual earnings vary based on caseload, payer mix, services provided, collections, cancellations, and time off.

Schedule & Flexibility

Because we primarily serve children, adolescents, and families, our highest referral demand occurs during after-school, evening, and weekend hours.

Full-time clinicians are required to maintain a minimum of 25 weekly appointment hours during our high-demand timeframes:

• Monday–Friday beginning at 3:00 p.m.
• Saturdays and/or Sundays

Clinicians have significant flexibility in determining how these hours are distributed. Weekend work is not required if the 25-hour requirement is fulfilled during weekday afternoons and evenings.

Weekdays Only
Monday–Friday: 3:00–8:00 p.m.
25 appointment hours | Saturdays & Sundays off

Earlier Evenings + One Weekend Day
Monday–Friday: 3:00–7:00 p.m.
Saturday or Sunday: 5 appointment hours
25 appointment hours | One weekend day worked

Compressed Four-Day Workweek
Monday, Tuesday & Thursday: 3:00–9:00 p.m.
Saturday: 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
25 appointment hours | Wednesday, Friday & Sunday off

These schedules are examples only. Clinicians may create any consistent schedule that provides at least 25 weekly appointment hours during our high-demand timeframes.

Additional appointment hours beyond the required 25 may be offered at any time of day based on clinician preference, client demand, desired caseload, and earning goals.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient psychotherapy to children, adolescents, young adults, and families
• Complete timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation
• Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans
• Communicate and collaborate with parents and caregivers when clinically appropriate
• Coordinate care with schools, physicians, and other professionals as needed
• Maintain professional, ethical, and legal standards of practice
• Participate in ongoing professional development
• Maintain an organized and professional therapy environment
• Contribute positively to a collaborative team culture

Qualifications

Required:

• Active, full, and unrestricted Michigan license as an LMSW, LPC, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist (LP)
• Master's or doctoral degree in an applicable mental health discipline
• Experience providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and/or families
• Ability to provide developmentally appropriate, evidence-based treatment
• Strong clinical judgment and assessment skills
• Excellent written documentation and attention to detail
• Professional and reliable communication
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team

Preferred:

• Experience with play-based therapeutic interventions
• Experience treating children and adolescents in an outpatient setting
• Training in trauma-informed treatment, anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, family systems, or other areas commonly presenting in child and adolescent outpatient practice
• Existing insurance credentialing is helpful but not required
