🧘 Bring Yoga to the Classroom
We're looking for an enthusiastic Yoga Instructor to introduce middle and high school students to yoga through movement, mindfulness, breathing, and relaxation.
You'll guide students through accessible yoga poses, stretching, balance work, breathing exercises, and mindfulness techniques that can help them develop strength, flexibility, body awareness, focus, and confidence.
This isn't about mastering difficult poses. It's about helping students discover movement they enjoy and practical techniques they can use to feel more focused, balanced, and confident.
You don't need to be a professional classroom teacher. If you have a strong foundation in yoga, enjoy working with young people, and can create a supportive and engaging environment, you may be a great fit.
Teaching experience is helpful but not required. We're open to yoga instructors, experienced practitioners, fitness professionals, dancers, wellness professionals, college students, and others with a genuine passion for yoga and a willingness to work with students.
Curriculum guidance and instructional materials are provided, giving you a structured foundation while allowing you to bring your own personality, experience, and creativity to each session.
🎯 What You'll Do
- Lead engaging and age-appropriate yoga sessions for middle and high school students
- Introduce students to yoga poses, stretches, breathing exercises, balance, and relaxation techniques
- Teach safe and accessible movement practices
- Guide students through activities that promote flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness
- Introduce mindfulness and breathing techniques students can use in everyday life
- Create engaging sessions that encourage students to participate and explore movement
- Demonstrate techniques clearly and provide supportive guidance
- Adapt activities to different abilities, comfort levels, and experience levels
- Encourage students to build confidence and develop a positive relationship with movement
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and judgment-free environment
- Provide positive feedback and celebrate student progress
- Maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment
- Communicate professionally with program coordinators and school staff
- Arrive prepared, dependable, and ready to engage students
🌟 What We're Looking For
You don't need to be a traditional teacher or have years of classroom experience. We're looking for someone who understands yoga and can make it approachable, relevant, and enjoyable for teenagers.
You may be a great fit if you have:
- A solid foundation in yoga and familiarity with fundamental yoga practices
- An understanding of safe and age-appropriate movement
- A genuine interest in working with middle and high school students
- Patience, enthusiasm, and an encouraging personality
- The ability to lead engaging group activities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfort working with students with different experience levels
- Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude
- Willingness to follow provided curriculum while bringing your own creativity
Prior teaching experience is a plus, but not required. Experience in yoga instruction, fitness, dance, wellness, education, tutoring, camps, youth programs, mentoring, or related fields is helpful.
Yoga instructors, yoga teacher trainees, experienced yoga practitioners, fitness professionals, dancers, wellness professionals, college students, recent graduates, aspiring educators, and movement enthusiasts are all encouraged to apply.
