Youth Sports Instructor
Location: Arthur Jordan Branch YMCA
About the Role
The Youth Sports Program Instructor provides quality leadership and supervision of instruction in assigned sports program(s) while maintaining a safe, welcoming, noncompetitive environment for YMCA members. Instructors may teach one or multiple sports, based on training and scheduling. Training is provided for all assigned program areas.
What You’ll Do
Lead instruction in your assigned sport(s)
Supervise participants to ensure safety
Demonstrate basic technique and form
Communicate clearly with youth
Inspect participation spaces for safety
Support a positive, noncompetitive environment
Qualifications
Minimum age 18 with a high school diploma or equivalent
2–3 years instructing experience preferred but not required
Basic knowledge of sport‑specific skills and techniques helpful but not required
Ability to demonstrate basic technique and form
Ability to communicate with preschool to middle school ages
Ability to visually inspect participation space for safety
Required certifications or ability to obtain within 90 days
