Health & Wellness Ministry Coordinator, Social Worker

Part-Time Position — Approximately 20–25 Hours/Week

Status:  Part-Time, Approximately 20–25 Hours/Week

Compensation:  $30.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience

Preferred Credential:  LCSW

ABOUT US

St. Timothy Lutheran Church is an ELCA faith community dedicated to Living the Love of Christ. We are seeking a compassionate and mission-driven Social Worker (LCSW preferred) to coordinate and lead our Health and Wellness Ministry, supporting the physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of our congregation and community.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Health & Wellness Ministry Coordinator serves as a vital link between faith and health, offering care, guidance, and support to members of our church family. This role blends clinical social work with pastoral care, requiring both professional skill and a heart for ministry.

PRIMARY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Health Evaluation — Assessing the health and wellness needs of congregation members
  • Health Consulting — Providing guidance and resources on health-related concerns
  • Health Education — Developing and delivering programs and materials to promote wellness
  • Visitations — Conducting homebound and hospital visits to provide care and support
  • Ministry Administration — Managing the day-to-day operations of the Health and Wellness Ministry

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • LCSW preferred; relevant social work licensure and experience required
  • Experience in a ministry setting preferred but not required
  • A deep and active faith in Jesus Christ
  • Active participation in the life and worship of the church
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for homebound and hospital visits
  • Competent computer skills
  • Availability to attend regular staff meetings and various church functions
  • A strong sense of confidentiality and professional discretion
  • A personable, welcoming demeanor with the ability to connect positively with people across a wide variety of backgrounds and generations
