Position Summary

Box Elder Behavioral Health is seeking a Licensed Psychologist in North Carolina to provide high-quality psychological and behavioral health services through our secure telehealth platform.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with a diverse clinical population and must be comfortable providing services to both children/adolescents and adults. This position is well suited for a psychologist who is able to work independently, maintain strong clinical documentation, and provide compassionate, evidence-based care while collaborating with other behavioral health professionals as needed. Depending on the clinician’s areas of expertise, services may include psychotherapy, diagnostic assessments, psychological evaluations, treatment planning, clinical consultation, and other behavioral health services within the psychologist’s scope of practice.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, clinically thorough, and comfortable working with clients across the lifespan. They should be able to build rapport with children and adolescents while also possessing the clinical maturity and experience necessary to effectively serve adult clients.

Applicants must have professional experience working with both pediatric/adolescent and adult populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based psychological evaluations to children, adolescents, and adults through secure telehealth.
• Conduct comprehensive clinical interviews, diagnostic assessments, and psychological evaluations as appropriate.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on client needs, diagnoses, strengths, and treatment goals.
• Provide individual psychotherapy and other psychological interventions within the clinician’s scope of practice.
• Assess and monitor client progress and adjust treatment recommendations when clinically appropriate.
• Conduct risk assessments and respond appropriately to safety concerns, including suicidal ideation, self-harm, abuse, or other clinical risks.
• Complete timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate progress notes, assessments, treatment plans, reports, and other required documentation.
• Maintain appropriate communication with parents, guardians, referral sources, treatment providers, and other professionals when clinically appropriate and properly authorized.
• Collaborate with other members of the BEBH clinical team to promote continuity and quality of care.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and protect client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, ethical standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Maintain familiarity with current evidence-based practices, professional standards, and ethical requirements.
• Manage scheduling, client communication, and assigned caseload responsibilities in a professional and timely manner.
• Participate in consultation or clinical team meetings as requested.
• Maintain all required professional licenses, certifications, and professional liability coverage.

Required Qualifications

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or another psychology discipline meeting North Carolina licensure requirements.
• Current Health Services Provider-Psychologist (HSP-P) certification in North Carolina, as required for the services provided.
• Current, active North Carolina Licensed Psychologist credential in good standing.
• Demonstrated clinical experience working with BOTH children/adolescents and adults is required.
• 3+ years of experience conducting clinical assessments, diagnosing mental health conditions, developing treatment plans, and providing evidence-based psychological interventions.
• Strong knowledge of child, adolescent, and adult development and psychopathology.
• Ability to appropriately adapt assessment and treatment approaches based on client age, developmental level, diagnosis, and presenting concerns.
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to appropriately assess safety and risk concerns.
• Excellent written communication and clinical documentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary behavioral health team.
• Comfortable providing services through a telehealth platform.
• Reliable access to a private workspace, computer, and secure high-speed internet connection.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable professional and ethical standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing telebehavioral health or telepsychology services.
• Experience conducting psychological or diagnostic evaluations.
• Experience working with trauma, behavioral concerns, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, family concerns, or complex clinical presentations.
• Experience working with court-involved, justice-involved, or other specialized populations.
• Experience collaborating with parents, caregivers, schools, physicians, attorneys, probation officers, DSS, or other community professionals.
• Experience with forensic psychology, psychosexual assessment, or other specialized psychological evaluations is a plus.
• Training in evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT-informed interventions, trauma-focused treatment, or other empirically supported modalities.
• Strong report-writing skills.
• Credentialed with North Carolina Medicaid, specifically Healthy Blue, strongly preferred.
