Overnight Residential Support Staff

Responsibilities: 

  • supervision of up to six young adult survivors of sexual exploitation & trafficking in a congregate care setting, ensuring physical and psychological safety of residents
  • maintaining staff-client ratio standards, primarily works independently overnight; additional staff may be onsite during late night and early morning transitions, times of client escalation or crisis, or extraneous safety concerns
  • supports residents during potentially triggering hours, helping residents navigate insomnia, nightmares and flashbacks, and urges to engage in maladaptive coping behaviors like self-harming, running away, or using substances
  • provides crisis intervention utilizing co-regulation, verbal de-escalation, therapeutic processing, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills
  • remains apprised of resident treatment plans, integrating relevant, individualized behavior intervention strategies to help residents move towards their goals
  • triages and addresses simultaneous client needs and crises
  • conducts and documents intermittent safety checks at designated times throughout the night
  • may administer medication
  • must remain awake and alert throughout overnight shift, however may engage in quiet, personal work such as studying, as long as other duties are fulfilled and the milieu is calm

Requirements: 

  • female-identifying and at least 21 years of age
  • satisfactory criminal background check
  • medical clearance including TB test and up-to-date vaccinations
  • minimum of high school diploma or GED; mimum of bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • certification in First Aid & CPR
  • Resilience Rising training academy modules
  • direct support professional (DSP) training, including medication administration
  • 20 hours of professional development annually

Hours: Part-time and full-time shifts available with the primary hours fulfilled during overnight hours. Overtime pay after 40 hours per week paid at 1.5 of corresponding hourly rate. 

Salary:  The starting salary for residential support staff is…

  • $19 per hour with a high school degree; $21 per hour with an associate’s degree; $23 per hour with a bachelor’s degree or CADC; $25 per hour with a master’s degree
  • an annual raise of $1 per hour after each cumulative year of employment
  • when resources are available, all onsite staff are eligible for a winter holiday bonus
