Position Overview

Ivan Chapa Farmers Insurance Agency is looking for a creative and motivated Part-Time Social Media Assistant to help grow our agency's online presence. This is a great opportunity for a college student interested in social media, marketing, communications, or content creation who wants hands-on experience working with a growing local business.

You'll help create content for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook while bringing fresh ideas and current social media trends to our agency.

Expected Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and schedule social media posts, Reels, Stories, and short-form videos
• Assist with filming content featuring our agency, team, and services
• Create graphics and marketing content using Canva
• Write engaging captions that match our agency's brand and voice
• Research trending sounds, formats, and social media content ideas
• Maintain a consistent content and posting schedule
• Brainstorm creative ways to promote the agency and generate engagement
• Help turn social media engagement into potential leads for the agency
• Track basic performance, including views, reach, engagement, and lead activity
• Assist with content during agency events, promotions, and community activities

Skills We're Looking For

• The ideal candidate is creative, organized, dependable, and comfortable bringing new ideas to the table. We're specifically looking for someone with:
• Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook
• Canva skills
• Basic short-form video editing skills
• Strong written communication and caption-writing abilities
• An eye for current social media trends and engaging content
• Creativity and willingness to experiment with new ideas
• Good organization and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Comfortable filming content and working with others on camera

Minimum Requirements

• Currently enrolled in college or recent graduate preferred
• Familiarity with major social media platforms
• Basic experience with Canva or similar design tools
• Basic video editing experience
• Reliable transportation for in-office content creation
• Ability to commit approximately 8 hours per week
• Some availability during normal business hours for filming and content creation
• Previous professional social media experience is not required. Personal projects, school organizations, internships, or experience managing your own social media content are welcome.

Schedule & Compensation

Part-Time: Approximately 8 hours per week
Compensation: $650 per month
Bonus Opportunities: Additional performance-based bonus opportunities for qualified leads and new business generated or facilitated through social media efforts.

The schedule offers flexibility, with some in-office availability required for filming and content creation.
