Personal Trainer and Strength Coach
The Personal Trainer and Strength Coach will design and deliver individualized and small-group strength and conditioning programs for athletes and general population clients. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing client needs, developing training plans, coaching sessions on the gym floor, monitoring progress, and adjusting programs based on performance and feedback. The role also involves educating clients on proper technique, recovery, and basic exercise physiology, as well as maintaining a safe, organized training environment. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Winnetka, IL, with expectations for collaboration with other coaches, participation in ongoing professional education, and contribution to the institute’s high-performance culture.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Strength & Conditioning and Strength Training, with the ability to program and coach for diverse athletic and fitness goals.
- Demonstrated Coaching and Personal Training experience, including leading individual and small-group sessions with clear, effective communication.
- Knowledge of Exercise Physiology and related training principles to design safe, evidence-informed programs.
- Relevant certification (e.g., CSCS, CPT, or equivalent) and CPR/AED certification, or willingness to obtain within a defined timeframe.
- Ability to build rapport with clients, foster a positive training environment, and work collaboratively within a coaching team.
- Strong observational skills for technique correction, risk management, and injury prevention.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing education, mentorship, and professional development aligned with Chicago Sports Institute’s standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Performance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
