School Based Clinician

We are offering a great opportunity for a full-time School Based Clinician.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for providing mental health and substance abuse services to children and adolescents referred to outpatient services through their local school division. Services include assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, case management, discharge planning, and associated record keeping. The clinician is responsible for complying with all applicable laws and professional practice standards, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). In carrying out these responsibilities, the incumbent will exercise sound judgment, demonstrate initiative, and maintain a high degree of confidentiality while working within the school division.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a human services or related field required.
- Must be registered with the Virginia Department of Health Professions with current LMHP or LMHP-E licensure status.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience providing clinical services to youth with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) and/or adolescents at risk for substance use disorders is required.
- Valid Virginia driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of individual, group, and family counseling practices, including behavioral health assessment techniques; biopsychosocial and cultural factors influencing mental health and substance use disorders; child and adolescent development; co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders; crisis intervention; case management; evidence-based treatment approaches; and principles of human growth, personality development, and family systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of legal and regulatory issues as they pertain to the treatment of youth.
- Strong competency in clients' rights, ethics, confidentiality, and professional practice.
- Knowledge of confidentiality regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, as applicable.
- Skills in providing individual, family, and group counseling; completing psychosocial evaluations of children; and coordinating services for children and their families.
- Knowledge of providing emergency and crisis interventions while maintaining casework documentation.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively engage in time management and organization of caseload.
- Ability to maintain clear and consistent boundaries with consumers, schools, and their families while working with various cultures and special needs groups.
- Ability to work effectively with all types and levels of people and respond appropriately to supervision.
- Ability to effectively implement inter- and intra-agency coordination of services for children and their families.
- Ability to work effectively with other Greater Reach CSB staff and within the school/community; exercise sound judgment; demonstrate initiative and flexibility; and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong knowledge of child mental health issues and diagnosis.
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical record documentation.
Special Work Conditions
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds (e.g., supplies for meetings, items delivered to executive administration, etc.). Work evenings when required to address Board or agency functions. Travel throughout the Commonwealth, including overnight travel when applicable.
Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug testing, and a Central Registry report will be required upon selection. Our agency maintains a drug-free workplace.

Grade S-N9 Licensed Eligible
$60,863.00 - $68,471.00
Grade S-N11 Licensed
$69,356.00 - $80,916.00
