Reporting to the Associate Director of Clinical Services, the Clinical Supervisor provides trauma-informed, reflective clinical supervision and support for a group of associates/trainees. Assists the Associate Director in developing a trauma-based training program to ensure clients receive quality, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, empowerment-based, and client-centered therapy to promote healing and growth that aligns with the YWCA Golden Gate Silicon Valley’s mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. The Clinical Supervisor must follow all legal and ethical guidelines established by the Behavioral Board of Science for California, as well as the policies and procedures of the YWCA Golden Gate Silicon Valley. 

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and reliable individual with a high level of self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Essential to this role is a demonstrated ability to work with culturally and economically diverse individuals and families, and with those impacted by trauma; a demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment and to respond appropriately to unexpected situations. 

Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills to work independently and as part of a team. You must have an understanding of feminism and a strong commitment to social justice. Additionally, an ideal candidate will possess knowledge of and sensitivity to domestic violence and sexual assault issues, trauma, gender equity, and client-centered service provision. 

Requirements: 

• Candidates must have a master’s degree in social work or a counseling psychology-related degree 

• Clinical license through the BBS of the State of California 

• Be licensed for at least 2 years. 

• Training necessary for clinical supervision (6 units) 

*Pay is based on a contract of up to 12 months, requiring supervision of at least two Trainees. For a contract of up to 12 months, pay ranges from $1,557–$1,572 per month, depending on linguistic ability (bilingual pay adds an additional $0.50/hour). 

Key to success is the ability to be present in a changing work environment; the ability to work independently and as a member of a diverse team with flexibility, initiative, and a sense of humor; and the ability to prioritize effectively and model healthy boundaries with empathy and compassion. Candidates should be competent in using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and have experience in confidential data management and record-keeping. The ideal candidate is a warm, self-starter deeply committed to providing services from a strengths-based, social justice, and anti-oppression framework. Prior experience and competence with crisis and trauma-related interventions are a plus. Bilingual, bi-cultural, and bi-literate skills are preferred (Spanish, Mandarin, or Vietnamese strongly preferred).  

Work hours are primarily Monday-Friday. Schedule TBD. This is a remote position with some in-person and in-office requirements. Delivery of service may include overtime to accomplish the task at hand. On-call duties are required for clinical crises. Work includes lifting up to 30 pounds. Susceptible to compassion fatigue and/or vicarious trauma. 

Other Requirements: 

• Cleared background check (fingerprinting) 

• Valid TB test 

• Valid 3+ years California driver’s license, reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and auto insurance that meets California minimum liability requirements.

• This position requires a Covid-19 vaccination due to the in-person interfacing required, and to promote the health and safety of others in the workplace and our community.
