Middle School Girls Volleyball Coach

Calvin Christian Middle School is seeking a faith-filled, energetic, and relational Middle School Girls Volleyball Coach who desires to invest in the spiritual, personal, and athletic growth of young women. The coach will create a positive, Christ-centered team environment where student-athletes develop volleyball fundamentals, grow as teammates and competitors, and learn to demonstrate character, sportsmanship, and Christ-like leadership.

The volleyball season runs from August 24 to October 15. The position requires three to four days per week for practices and games.

Responsibilities:

Faith, Character, & Relationships

• Model a growing relationship with Jesus Christ through conduct, leadership, and relationships.
• Build positive relationships with student-athletes, families, coaches, school staff, and the GCCS community.
• Encourage student-athletes in their faith and character development.
• Model and teach Christ-centered sportsmanship, teamwork, humility, and respect.

Student-Athlete Development

• Teach age-appropriate volleyball fundamentals and help student-athletes grow in individual and team skills.
• Evaluate student-athlete development and provide constructive instruction and feedback.
• Adapt coaching and instruction to the developmental needs of individual athletes.
• Create an environment where students are challenged, supported, and encouraged to grow.

Team & Practice Leadership

• Plan and lead organized, purposeful practices that promote individual skill development and team growth.
• Establish team goals, expectations, and culture consistent with the mission and core values of GCCS.
• Prepare effectively for competition and make appropriate in-game adjustments.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with student-athletes, families, fellow coaches, and administration.

Program Stewardship & Compliance

Follow GCCS policies and procedures, as well as all applicable OK Conference and MHSAA regulations.

Collaborate with the Athletic Director, fellow coaches, and support staff.

Properly care for equipment, uniforms, facilities, and program resources.
