Gymnastics Teacher

Gymnastics Teacher

Rock 'n Tumble Gymnastics  |  San Diego, CA  |  Part-Time, Hourly

Kids walk into our gym unsure if they can do a cartwheel. A few months later they're sticking landings and asking to try a backhandspring. If you want to be the person who makes that happen — and who genuinely loves the chaos and joy of a room full of kids — we want to meet you.

About Us

Rock 'n Tumble Gymnastics is a youth gymnastics program built on safety, movement, and confidence. We believe our coaches shape more than athletes — they shape growing humans. That means we take training, consistency, and support for our staff as seriously as we take safety for our students.

About the Role

As a Gymnastics Teacher, you'll lead classes across age groups and skill levels, following our lesson progressions while bringing your own energy and personality to the floor. A year in, you'll have a roster of students who trust you, parents who ask for your classes by name, and a real shot at moving into a Lead Teacher rate as your skills and reliability grow.

What You'll Do

  • Plan and lead gymnastics classes for a range of ages and skill levels
  • Run age-appropriate lesson plans focused on skill progression, not just skill checklists
  • Build a class environment where kids feel safe trying things they're bad at yet
  • Give feedback that's honest and encouraging at the same time
  • Keep a close eye on safety and spotting during every class
  • Communicate clearly with parents and hand off any real concerns to management

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Experience teaching or coaching gymnastics (recreational or competitive)
  • Working knowledge of gymnastics technique and skill progressions
  • Comfortable engaging kids of different ages and energy levels
  • Reliable — able to commit to a consistent weekly class schedule
  • Willing to complete a background check

Preferred:

  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (we'll help you get certified if you're not there yet)
  • Experience with tumbling, parkour/ninja, or preschool movement classes

Pay & Schedule

  • $25/hour training rate while you ramp up on our curriculum and safety standards
  • $28+/hour once you move into a Teacher role. Pay rate is $30+/hour once you qualify into the Lead Teacher position
  • Part-time, following our school-year calendar — class blocks rather than a fixed 9-to-5, with predictable breaks aligned to school holidays

How to Apply

Send your resume and a note about your gymnastics teaching or coaching experience to mary@rockntumble.com. We read every application.
