Part-Time Martial Arts Instructor

Whizara is looking for energetic and reliable Martial Arts Instructors to lead engaging after-school classes for K–12 students in Oakland, CA.

 

The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching martial arts and working with children, with the ability to create a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment that promotes physical fitness, discipline, confidence, and respect.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Deliver age-appropriate martial arts instruction for after-school programs.
  • Teach foundational and intermediate techniques, forms, drills, self-defense skills, and martial arts principles.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment.
  • Ensure student safety by following proper instructional techniques and safety protocols.
  • Promote core values such as respect, perseverance, self-control, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively while maintaining a fun and engaging atmosphere.
  • Communicate via email and phone with us as needed.

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in one or more martial arts disciplines (e.g., Karate, Taekwondo, Judo, Kung Fu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or similar).
  • Preferably Black belt or with advanced rank certification in a recognized martial arts discipline.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students of varying ages and skill levels.
  • Previous experience teaching in schools, camps, or after-school enrichment programs is a plus
  • Commitment to student safety and development
  • Ability to teach during after school hours starting August 2026
