Site Director

As the Site Director, you’ll manage daily operations, supervise staff, foster strong relationships with families and school partners, and ensure full compliance with state licensing standards. Join our growing team and make a lasting difference in children’s lives!

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the site and ensure a safe, positive, and engaging environment for all children.
  • Supervise and mentor program staff, ensuring quality programming and adherence to licensing rules.
  • Develop and lead creative, age-appropriate activities aligned with program goals and Colorado learning standards.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with children, families, school partners, and community members.
  • Maintain attendance, incident, and compliance documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding child progress, program updates, and events.
  • Support enrollment growth and assist with marketing and outreach for the site.
  • Uphold all Luna Kids Care and Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) licensing policies.

Qualifications (Must Meet One of the Following per Colorado Licensing Rule 2.509.A.2)

To qualify as a School-Age Program Director, candidates must be at least 21 years old and meet one of the following options:

1. Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate Degree in one of the following fields:→ No additional experience required.

  • Child Development
  • Psychology
  • Early Childhood Education / Special Education
  • Elementary Education / Special Education
  • Family and Human Development / Family Studies
  • Human Services
  • Recreation or Outdoor Education

2. Associate’s degree or 60 college credits from an accredited institution and 455 hours (≈3 months) of verified experience caring for 4 or more children ages 4–18.

  • 3,185 hours (≈21 months) of verified experience caring for 4 or more children ages 4–18 and either:
  • 6 college credits in education or child development, or
  • 40 hours of training applicable to school-age programming (completed within 9 months of hire).

3. Current Early Childhood Professional Credential Level II or higher (Version 3.0) as determined by the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (Shines PDIS)

(Experience must include direct supervision of children in a group setting and be verified by employer letters on official letterhead.)

Additional Requirements

  • CPR/First Aid certified ( We can also provide)
  • Background checks clearance
  • Required pre-service licensing trainings (may be completed upon hire)
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for working with children and building positive team culture
