Reports to: Athletic Director
Location: San Francisco
Position Type: Part-time (August - Mid November)
Compensation: Seasonal Stipend ($2,775)
Position Summary:
The Assistant Flag Football Coach supports the Head Coach in developing and maintaining a competitive, positive, and student-centered flag football program. The coach is responsible for helping student-athletes develop their athletic skills, leadership abilities, sportsmanship, and commitment to academic success while fostering a safe and inclusive team environment.

The Assistant Flag Football Coach plays an important role in helping student-athletes grow as competitors, leaders, and members of the school community while supporting the overall success of the flag football program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices, workouts, and team activities.
- Teach and develop fundamental and advanced flag football skills, game strategies, and rules.
- Help supervise student-athletes during practices, games, team travel, and school-sponsored events.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, respect, and character development.
- Assist with game preparation, including equipment management, warm-ups, and scouting reports.
- Support player development through individual instruction and feedback.
- Help monitor student-athlete academic eligibility and encourage academic success.
- Maintain a safe environment by following school, league, and CIF regulations.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, coaching staff, and school administration.
- Assist with program operations, including equipment inventory, uniform distribution, and end-of-season responsibilities.
- Attend coaches' meetings, professional development opportunities, and athletic department events as required.
- Represent the school and athletic program in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous coaching and/or playing experience in flag football, football, or a related sport preferred.
- Passion for mentoring and working with high school-aged students.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of a private college-preparatory school.
- Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, administrators, parents, and student-athletes.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to pass all required background checks and complete required coaching certifications.
Schedule
- Seasonal position with practices occurring at 5pm 5 days a week on weekdays and games occurring after school.
- Attendance at all scheduled practices, games, team meetings, and athletic department events is expected.
