Art Therapist
Licensed Art Therapist – Part-Time
Shore Staffing, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and creative Licensed Art Therapist to provide school-based services to students in Frederick, Maryland. This part-time position offers up to 18 hours per week during regular school bell hours.
The Art Therapist will use therapeutic art activities and evidence-based interventions to support students’ emotional, behavioral, social, and developmental needs. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children and adolescents and can collaborate effectively with school staff, families, and other members of the student support team.
Responsibilities include the following:
Provide individual and small-group art therapy services to students.
Develop age-appropriate therapeutic activities based on students’ identified needs and goals.
Use art-based interventions to support emotional expression, coping skills, self-esteem, communication, and behavioral regulation.
Complete assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required documentation.
Monitor student progress and adjust therapeutic interventions as needed.
Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, counselors, therapists, families, and other professionals.
Participate in student meetings and provide recommendations when requested.
Maintain student confidentiality and comply with all school, state, and federal requirements.
Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive therapeutic environment.
Qualifications:
Must hold an active and unrestricted license to practice art therapy in the State of Maryland.
Master’s degree in Art Therapy
Experience working with children or adolescents.
School-based, behavioral health, special education, or pediatric experience is preferred.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary school team.
Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
Must successfully complete all required background checks and school-based onboarding requirements.
