Mental Health Therapist (Bilingual)

Position Summary:

The Mental Health Therapist provides culturally responsive counseling and behavioral health services to adolescents, adults, and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. This position has a particular focus on supporting culturally diverse and multilingual communities, including Spanish-speaking and immigrant populations, while serving all individuals referred for services. Services are provided in partner schools and CCSWO office settings and may be delivered in English, Spanish, or through interpretation services as needed.

 

Essential Job Functions:

1. Provide high quality, compassionate and ethical outpatient mental health therapy to clients as scheduled.

2. Provide clinical services to students of Princeton City Schools as an embedded therapist

a. Provide individual therapy to PCS students

b. Provide consultation and mileu services at partner schools

c. Provide psychoeducational groups and services to PCS students and families

3. Complete clinical documentation within expected timeframes.

4. Maintain required billable hours. Work hours must be maintained in a way that is responsive to client needs at each location.

5. Actively participate as a positive member of the agency environment.

6. Maintain good standing with the appropriate board and insurance entities.

7. Complete all recommended continuing education requirements and agency trainings.

8. Stay current with updated research and best practices.

9. Be aware of community referral sources and refer when necessary.

10. Secure client information per HIPAA standards.

11. Maintain case files within electronic health record (EHR) that are up to date and within expected guidelines.

12. Participate in individual and/or group supervision as required.

13. Participate in staff meetings as required.

14. Abide by the agency’s policies and procedures.

15. Uphold the agency’s mission statement.

16. Perform other duties as assigned (including but not limited to completion of Social Security/Disability forms, authorization and billing forms, phone calls, and participating in case consultation meetings).

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: No

 

Minimum Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

· Degree in counseling or social work

· Fluency with oral and written English and Spanish

· Proficient in utilization of computer-based medical records

· Dependent license (LPC or LSW) in counseling or social work required

 

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

· Independent license (LPCC or LISW) in counseling or social work preferred

Work Environment:

Typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues

 

Physical Demands:

Must be able to meet the following physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel, and control items or equipment;

  Talk to other employees/clients and hear them;

  See and be able to read, write, and interpret written documents;

  Occasionally lift and move objects weighing up to 15 pounds.
