Recovery Coach

Salary: $21.55/hour - Salary is Negotiable (Employees will receive 5% below the negotiated pay rate during their probationary status.)
Responsible To: Behavioral Health Director
Summary: Provide peer recovery support services to clients involved in substance abuse treatment services. Uses strengths-based approaches to assist clients in achieving sustained recovery from their substance use disorder by building resources and community support networks. Continuation of this position is contingent upon funding allocations.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants please clearly state how you meet these qualifications on the application/resume.
- Associate degree Psychology, Social Work or Counseling and/or two (2) years of related experience and/or a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- AODA Recovery Coach Certification within thirty (30) days of employment.
- Must be in long term recovery from a substance use disorder for at least five (5) years and have documentation to support.
- Must have completed training in the following areas (Per DHS 72.05)
a. Ten (10) hours of training in advocacy
b. Ten (10) hours of training in mentoring and education
c. Ten (10) hours of training in recovery and wellness support
d. Ten (10) hours of training in ethical responsibility
Items to be Submitted:
- Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
- Employees are required to have proof of seasonal influenza vaccination; medical or religious exemption may be requested upon hire.
- Letter from a Therapist or Medical Provider regarding recovery from a substance use disorder.
- Three (3) letters of reference from family members and community members who can attest to character, commitment to recovery, and ability to support others in their recovery journey
