Part-Time Occupational Therapist — Saturdays Only (Oakland)

Part-Time Occupational Therapist — Saturdays Only (Oakland)

At Outdoor Kids OT, your clinic is the local park! We're hiring a part-time Occupational Therapist for a Saturdays-only, school-year position at Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland, CA.

SCHEDULE: Leading 2 outdoor OT groups every Saturday, 9:00-10:45am and 11:15am-1:00pm, paid at 1.5x our standard hourly rates. 29 Saturdays total, August 15, 2026-May 29, 2027, with all holiday weekends and winter/spring break off. Additional weekday hours seeing individual children for outdoor sessions are available if desired.

PAY: Saturday hours paid at 1.5x our standard hourly rate: $81.50-$97.33/hour, depending on years of licensed OT experience. Additional weekday hours (if taken) are paid at our standard rate. All working hours are paid at full rate under California law, including planning, documentation, email, and meetings, not just treatment time.

ABOUT THE ROLE: You'll run small outdoor groups (5-6 children) at Joaquin Miller Park, using trails, trees, and open space as your clinical environment, plus individual sessions on the trail if you pick up weekday hours. Since 2015, OKOT has built our clinical approach around connection with nature and others.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR OTs WHO: Hold an active OTR/L license in California (or in progress); have 3-5 years of experience as a licensed OT practitioner; have the physical energy to run, hike, climb, and play outdoors for hours, in all weather including mud and cold; think quickly and stay calm when things go sideways; bring strong clinical reasoning and communication with kids, families, and colleagues; support children's self-regulation using a relationship-based approach; have solid documentation habits; have experience leading small groups of children.

WHAT YOU'LL GAIN: Free access to the full ConTiGO Approach training (a $2,300 value) and 30 hours of AOTA-approved continuing education (3.0 CEUs) built into onboarding, plus mentorship from a dedicated site lead therapist and real-time team support via WhatsApp.
