JV Girls Volleyball Coach - Washington-Liberty High School

 

Washington-Liberty High School is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable Junior Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach to assist in developing student-athletes both on and off the court. The JV Coach will work closely with the varsity coaching staff to teach volleyball fundamentals, foster teamwork and sportsmanship, and help prepare players for advancement within the program.

 

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct daily practices that emphasize skill development, teamwork, conditioning, and game strategy.
  • Coach and supervise the JV team during matches, practices, and team activities.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture.
  • Assist with player evaluations and communication regarding team expectations and development.
  • Collaborate with the varsity coach to ensure consistency in program philosophy and systems.
  • Maintain appropriate supervision of student-athletes at all times.
  • Follow all VHSL and Arlington Public Schools policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school staff, and the athletic department.
  • Support the overall goals and mission of the Washington-Liberty volleyball program.
     

 

Qualifications

  • Previous volleyball playing and/or coaching experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of volleyball fundamentals and game strategy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching staff.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to serve as a positive role model for high school student-athletes.
  • Successful completion of all Arlington Public Schools coaching requirements, background checks, and certifications.
  • Knowledge of athlete development and injury prevention.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

 

Season: Fall (August 3-October 31)

Tryouts: August 3-5

Practices: Weekday afternoons/evenings

Matches: Primarily weekdays

 

Stipend commensurate with Arlington Public Schools coaching salary schedule.
