About the Position

Are you passionate about communications, nonprofit leadership, digital marketing, or public health? Join HealthNet of Rock County as an AmeriCorps VISTA and help expand access to healthcare by strengthening the organization's outreach, fundraising, and community engagement efforts.

This is a capacity-building position designed to create sustainable systems that will help HealthNet increase community awareness, strengthen donor relationships, and improve access to healthcare services for underserved populations.

As a VISTA member, you'll gain valuable nonprofit experience while developing professional skills in communications, marketing, fundraising, and project management.

What You'll Do

Digital Marketing & Communications

• Conduct a communications and social media audit
• Develop and implement a strategic social media plan
• Design branded marketing materials using Canva
• Create and maintain a content calendar
• Monitor and analyze social media and website engagement metrics
• Develop digital communication tools that strengthen community awareness

Community Outreach & Engagement

• Build and improve community outreach strategies
• Develop systems to track community partnerships and outreach activities
• Support awareness campaigns and special events
• Create impact stories and communication materials that highlight HealthNet's mission and community impact

Fundraising & Resource Development

• Research grant opportunities and funding sources
• Develop grant templates and fundraising resources
• Support digital fundraising campaigns
• Create systems for tracking grants, donors, and fundraising activities
• Build a sustainable fundraising toolkit for future staff and volunteers

Sustainability & Capacity Building

• Document organizational processes and best practices
• Create a comprehensive VISTA manual for future team members
• Develop sustainable systems that continue beyond the service year
• Ensure communication, fundraising, and outreach resources can be maintained long-term

Preferred Qualifications

We're looking for candidates who are:

• Passionate about serving communities and improving health equity
• Interested in nonprofit management, communications, public health, marketing, or community engagement
• Strong written and verbal communicators
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Creative problem-solvers who enjoy working independently and collaboratively
• Comfortable learning new technology and digital tools

Experience with Canva, social media management, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or nonprofit fundraising is helpful but not required.
