Duties
- You will advise managers and senior leaders on environmental impact issues.
- You will prepare plans for the management and protection of natural resources (e.g., sensitive plants and wildlife and their habitats).
- You will implement natural resources management principles in various ecosystem types (e.g., botanical, wetlands, forest) to ensure long-term maintenance of environmental quality, enhancement of native species, and biotic diversity.
- You will brief others on natural resources environmental compliance or program implementation.
- You will serve as organization's representative at conferences to present information on biological science or environmental programs.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Qualifications
You must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
???????- Identifies a need for and knows where or how to gather information; organizes and maintains information or information management systems. Determines its importance and accuracy, and communicates it by a variety of methods.
- Applies principles, methods, tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and managing projects and resources, including technical performance.
- Apply knowledge of an array of laws, rules, and regulations (National Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act, Clean Air Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, etc.) designed to protect natural resources.
- Apply knowledge of a wide range of principles, concepts, practices, and methods of ecology, wildlife biology, fisheries biology, plant and soil sciences to develop, conduct, and evaluate ecosystem management studies; analyze ecological, botanical, and faunal issues and problems related to ecosystems; provide technical solutions to complex habitat management programs; adapt, develop, or modify ecological techniques and procedures; devise new strategies, restoration, or management plans for ecosystems; and prepare technical or scientific reports of findings and recommendations.

Education
GS-12:
Degree: biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
or
Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
