Job Description
Job Title: Student Recreation Specialist
Salary Range: $20-25 per hour
Job Type: Part-Time (15-20 hours per week)
Contract Duration: 9-12 Months
Location: Lake Elsinore Unified School District
Position Summary
Expanded Learning Academy is seeking enthusiastic, organized, and student-focused individuals to serve as Student Recreation Specialist for the Lake Elsinore Unified School District EXCEL After School Program.
Student Recreation Specialists are responsible for delivering engaging specialty enrichment programming while creating a safe, structured, and positive learning environment for students. This position combines instruction, student supervision, classroom management, and daily program operations to ensure a high-quality after-school experience.
Student Recreation Specialists work collaboratively with the LEUSD EXCEL Site Supervisor to support daily program operations while representing Expanded Learning Academy with professionalism and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging specialty enrichment programs aligned with the assigned curriculum.
- Create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment for all students.
- Lead hands-on activities that promote student participation, creativity, and collaboration.
- Supervise students throughout all program activities, including transitions and dismissal.
- Take attendance, distribute snacks, and follow established daily program procedures.
- Communicate behavior expectations, learning objectives, and program guidelines to students.
- Collaborate with the LEUSD EXCEL Site Supervisor to support daily program operations.
- Prepare instructional materials, maintain organized learning spaces, and assist with classroom setup and cleanup.
- Report student incidents, injuries, or concerns promptly while maintaining clear communication with district staff and Expanded Learning Academy leadership.
- Represent Expanded Learning Academy professionally while fostering positive relationships with students, families, and school staff.
