Activity Based Therapy Tech
A Tech at NextStep Atlanta Paralysis Recovery Center acts as a hands on assist to Activity Based Trainers in the rehabilitation of individuals living with paralysis. This includes but is not limited to individuals with spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, guillain barre syndrome, multiple sclerosis, transverse myelitis, and cerebral palsy.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Physical transferring and stabilization of severely physically disabled individuals
- Locomotor training (stepping clients on the treadmill)
- Operating therapy machinery/devices
- Prepare and clean the training area
- Responsible for client safety
- Responsible for helping create a positive, high energy, training environment
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a related field
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds with proper lifting technique
- Must have initiative to take on tasks without being asked
- Great attention to detail and communication skills
- Positive attitude with a passion for helping others
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be able to build relationships with clients
- Must demonstrate knowledge of physiology, exercise techniques, and biomechanics
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPR certification (can obtain after being hired)
- Flexible hours (within a Monday-Friday, 9-5 schedule)
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: From $20.00 per hour

- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
- Minimum 18 hours/week
