INTERNSHIP DETAILS:
Students must first be hired as a Direct Care Professional to have access to our internship program. Internships are offered to any employee at any point in time during their employment with ACR Homes. Once you have completed training to become a Direct Care Professional, you can meet with our internship coordinator at any point during your employment to begin your research or project based internship that can be done in any major/field of study.
Because the internship is customizable, they can be either research-based, experience-based, or project-based. A research-based internship for example, you may choose a topic of research that supports your personal interests and/or your major. Identify a "problem" that you would like to solve, and use your research to write a paper and solve it. You can even make recommendations to change a residents care plan, implement a new alternative therapy or treatment, or helpful activity and use the internship to improve the quality of life for a resident or group of residents. During the course of the internship, the coordinator will aid your research and help provide you with real-life experiences. You will write a paper on your experience and receive a letter of recommendation from the CEO of ACR Homes after your final presentation.
