K.D. Markley Elementary School
K.D. Markley Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Long-Term Substitute School Counselor for the first semester of the 2026-27 school year. This role provides academic guidance and personal/social counseling to elementary students, collaborating with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to promote student success and well-being.
Responsibilities

Academic Support
- Monitor academic progress and intervene when students are at risk
- Collaborate with teachers to support student learning and achievement
- Personal/Social Development
- Provide individual and group counseling for personal, emotional, and social issues
- Address bullying, peer conflict, and mental health concerns
- Refer students and families to outside support services when needed
- Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation
- Participate in IEP and 504 meetings as needed
- Support school-wide initiatives related to attendance, behavior, and wellness
Qualifications
- Master's degree in School Counseling or related field
- Valid Pennsylvania School Counselor certification
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

2025-2026 Salary Schedule (Due to current negotiations of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), an adjustment may need to be made for salaries. If so, they will be adjusted accordingly after the CBA is ratified):
Experience calculated per contract agreement not to exceed step 10
Bachelor's $62,845 to $73,195 (Step 10)
Bachelor's + 15 $67,145 to $77,495 (Step 10)
Master's $78,045 to $88,395 (Step 10)
Master's + 15 $80,520 to $91,120 (Step 10)
Master's + 30 $82,995 to $93,845 (Step 10)
Master's + 45 $85,470 to $96,570 (Step 10)
Master's + 60 $87,945 to $99,295 (Step 10)
Doctorate $90,420 to $102,020 (Step 10)
