A Marine Aquarium Curator assists with the development and management of exhibit design, maintenance, and fabrication; content and media development to support interpretive experiences at the Aquarium; develops and manages the research programs involving conservation, education and operations; oversees wildlife conservation programs; manages staff involved in aquaculture for conservation and operations, animal care programs, and life support operations; manages programs and staff dedicated to research and education of middle school, high school, and college students; applies sound supervisory and management standards and techniques in building and maintaining an effective work group; and fulfills equal employment opportunity responsibilities.

 

REQUIREMENT(S)/MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)

 

  1. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and two years of full-time paid professional experience working with marine specimens, exhibit design, and educational program design; or
  2. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in life science or marine biology or closely related field and one year of full-time paid professional experience working with marine specimens, exhibit design, and educational program design; or
  3. A master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in life science or marine biology.
