Company: NOVA Care

Pay Rate: $20.00 – $25.00 / hour (Starting wage, DOE)

Job Type: Part-Time / Flexible hourly

About Us

At NOVA Care, we believe every family deserves peace of mind, and every child deserves a safe, joyful environment to thrive. We provide high-quality, private-pay respite care specifically tailored for families with children who have disabilities. Our mission is to give parents a much-needed break while ensuring their children are engaged, supported, and having an absolute blast.

Role Overview

We are looking for compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Childcare Specialists to join our growing team. In this role, you won't just be providing childcare; you will be a vital support system. You will step into families' homes to provide intentional, fun, and safe care tailored to each child’s unique needs, interests, and abilities. If you genuinely love hanging out with kids, celebrating their unique personalities, and creating inclusive environments, we want to meet you!

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage & Connect: Plan and participate in fun, age-appropriate, and ability-inclusive activities (arts & crafts, sensory play, reading, outdoor games).
  • Provide Dedicated Care: Ensure the child’s safety and well-being at all times, closely following the family’s established routines and care plans.
  • Assistance with Daily Living: Help with basic needs such as meal preparation, feeding, behavior redirection, and light tidying up after activities.
  • Build Trust: Maintain open, empathetic, and professional communication with parents and guardians to ensure consistency of care.

What We Are Looking For

  • A Heart for the Work: A genuine joy for working with children, specifically those with developmental, physical, or intellectual disabilities.
  • Patience & Empathy: An understanding that every child communicates and interacts differently, and a commitment to meeting them where they are.
  • Reliability: Families depend heavily on respite care; punctuality and dependability are non-negotiable.
  • Professionalism: Ability to respect family privacy and maintain boundaries as a private-pay provider.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Prior experience in childcare, special education, behavioral therapy (e.g., RBT), or caregiving for individuals with disabilities is highly preferred.
  • Training (Preferred): Completion of Childcare Basics training (or willingness to obtain).
  • Certifications: Current Adult/Infant/Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to get certified before your first shift).
  • Background Check: Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation to travel to client homes.

Why Join NOVA Care?

  • Competitive Pay: A starting wage of $20–$25/hour based on your experience and certifications.
  • Meaningful Impact: You are directly preventing caregiver burnout and bringing joy to amazing kids.
  • Flexibility: Great for students, paraprofessionals, or anyone looking for a rewarding side role with flexible hours.

How to Apply: If you are ready to bring your energy, smiles, and skills to NOVA Care, please submit your resume and a brief note about why you love working with exceptional kids!
