Assistant Athletic Director

Position Purpose:

The Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for assisting the Athletic Department in the development of Middle School athletes spiritually and athletically. They will also be responsible for all the transportation needs of Athletics, working alongside of the Maintenance Department to provide services as needed. They will work with the Athletic Director to maintain/manage all concessions and concession workers. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Athletic Administration & Compliance

  • Promote understanding of the school’s vision, mission, and core values through the athletic program.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and athletic regulations. 
  • Log and track student-athlete physicals to ensure eligibility compliance. 
  • Support coaches with administrative tasks, including maintaining player records. 
  • Maintain and manage athletic facilities to ensure safety and proper condition. 
  • Maintain and manage athletic equipment, inventory, and storage areas to ensure organization, accessibility, and safe condition.
  • Manage all athletic transportation needs, coordinating with the transportation department to secure, schedule, and confirm transportation for all away athletic events.
  • Install and maintain advertising banners for athletic promotions and sponsorship visibility.
  • Attend athletic conferences to remain informed of best practices and league updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

 

Middle School Athletics

  • Coordinate Middle School skill-development programs (Club 1, NIVA, Futsal, Boys of Summer, Serious Softball). 
  • Expand the school’s athletic reach among Middle School–age students. 
  • Implement a comprehensive plan for skills development across all Middle School sports.
  • Manage Middle School game scheduling, ensuring accurate communication and smooth event execution. 
  • Coordinate officials for all Middle School home events. 

 

Game & Event Management

  • Assist the Athletic Director (AD) in planning and coordinating athletic events, practices, competitions, and awards nights. 
  • Manage game operations from beginning to end, including facilities, equipment, and logistics. 
  • Oversee complete game-day setup and operations for all Middle School events and major High School games. 
  • Supervise students during athletic activities to ensure safety and appropriate conduct. 
  • Supervise summer athletic camps and oversee program development.
  • Coordinate the athletic concessions and ticket program, including but not limited to: 
    • Purchasing food and beverages
    • Scheduling, training, and supervising workers
    • Managing concessions funds
    • Obtain and maintain all required training for concessions operations. 

Communications, Promotion & Media

  • Assist with promotion of athletic events and programs across communication platforms. 
  • Manage the ECA Athletics App and social media accounts (Instagram). 
  • Work alongside the Athletic Director to develop basketball game broadcasting capabilities.

  • A clear Christian testimony of salvation, a mature godly spirit, and a lifestyle of biblical integrity

  • A deep commitment to, and personal understanding of, the principles of a Christian education

 

Position Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred in Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant athletic administration experience.
  • Knowledge of sports rules, regulations, and safety procedures.
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, respectful relationships with students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, coaches, families, and staff.
  • Proven organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Must be able to lift items of 20 lbs. regularly/50 lbs. occasionally
