Afterschool Program Coordinator

The Afterschool Program Coordinator will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and ongoing management of a variety of afterschool educational and community youth-based programs. The role also includes assisting with marketing initiatives to promote said programs, building strong relationships with community partners, and ensuring that all programs run smoothly and meet the needs of the students, families, and community members they serve. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Program Management: 

Provide logistical and support to the Director of Programming for youth-based programs, ensuring they are well-organized, meet educational standards, and provide a safe, enriching environment for students. 

New Program Development: Support the creation and management of additional educational and community-based programs as they arise, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals. 

Staff Oversight: Recruit, train, and supervise program staff, including instructors, facilitators, and volunteers, to ensure high-quality program delivery. 

Data Tracking & Reporting: Collect and analyze program data, track outcomes, and prepare reports for stakeholders, funding agencies, and the Board of Directors. 

Marketing & Outreach: 

Marketing Strategy: Develop and execute marketing plans to promote all educational programs, ensuring that they reach target audiences effectively and engage the community. 

Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with schools, local organizations, and community leaders to strengthen partnerships and enhance program visibility. 

Collaboration & Partnerships: 

Community Partnerships: Actively engage with community partners, government agencies, and local businesses to seek new opportunities for program growth and sustainability. 

Parent & Guardian Engagement: Foster strong relationships with parents, guardians, and families, keeping them informed and involved in program activities and decision-making. 

 

Qualifications: 

Experience: 

Bachelor's Degree or relevant program management experience, preferably in education, youth development, or community services. 

Proven experience in managing educational programs, youth programs, or community outreach initiatives. 

Strong background in marketing and outreach, including social media, print materials, and event planning. 

Skills: 

Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills. 

Strong verbal and written communication abilities, including public speaking and presentations. 

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving. 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 

 

Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check and child abuse clearance.
