Care Navigator
Care Navigator
The Company
Navi is on a mission to make finding mental health care easy peasy. We are the only service that helps anyone, anywhere (in the US), with any coverage, find and schedule a mental health appointment. And we're totally free.
Since going live this past year, we have guided hundreds of families and individuals to timely support, and partnered with dozens of mental and digital health companies representing tens of thousands of clinicians and covering millions of members. Our Navigators offer fast, personalized, and empathetic navigation, matching individuals and families with therapists, psychiatrists, and community resources aligned with their insurance, location, cultural preferences, and clinical needs.
The Team
Navi is a fast-moving startup, and our bar is high—we expect excellence, ownership, and the drive to grow with us. We leave our egos at the door and promote teamwork over individualism, because we are mission obsessed.
The work is demanding, but so are the rewards. We don’t offer epic work-life balance, but you’ll work with the highest quality humans, make direct and immediate impact on hundreds of individuals, and feel empowered by a team that will fight to help you grow and succeed.
Our culture is centered around:
- Empathy: We lead with compassion and listen first.
- Integrity: We do the right thing, even when no one is watching.
- Communication: We share openly, clearly, and often.
- Care: We look after our teammates and the people we serve.
- Dedication: This is our life’s work.
If you want to be challenged, have the chance to shape the future of access to mental health care and build deep, long-term relationships, keep reading.

You and Your Role
At Navi, you’re the beating heart of our mission. Our Care Navigators are the reason people get connected to life-changing care—fast. You’ll be at the center of the action, empowered to solve real problems for real families every day, and deeply valued by both those you help and the rest of the Navi team. This isn’t your standard care coordinator job. As Navi grows, there will be opportunities for your role and compensation to grow too.
Role Description
Goal: 100% of people you talk to that are looking for care should have a scheduled appointment within the next 7 days.
As a Care Navigator, you’ll be the calm in the storm—triaging needs, mapping pathways to care, and sticking with individuals and families until the hand-off is complete. You’ll blend empathetic support with operational wizardry, helping us scale a service that can literally save lives.
We’re looking for a contractor who can provide coverage for some hours between 1p.m. and 9p.m. ET, and coverage on Saturdays and Sundays. Exact working times will be mutually agreed upon based on availability and need.
What You’ll Do
- Intake & Triage: Conduct warm phone intakes to capture clinical and social details and determine next steps.
- Care & Therapeutic Matchmaking: Use Navi’s database and your own sleuthing skills to surface the best-fit providers (think age, specialty, insurance, language, cultural competence).
- Schedule Appointments: Book the first appointment directly, or provide a warm handoff to our partners to schedule.
- Progress Check-Ins: Follow up at key milestones; track outcomes and patient-reported experience scores.
- Documentation & Data: Keep meticulous notes in our CRM; tag data for insights, and develop formulas to help automate.
Navi isn’t for everyone, but if this speaks to you, you’ll do your best work here.
You’ll Thrive at Navi If You…
- Are action-oriented—you like getting things done, fast. We are a startup – fast is our only speed.
- You bring momentum and urgency to your work. When the phone rings, you’re the first to answer and the last to leave someone hanging.
- Others describe you as an A player and a dynamic, focused multitasker
- Have a people-first mindset—you instinctively empathize, empower, validate, and show up with warmth.
- Have experience in sales or case management—you’ve moved people to action before.
- Love a good puzzle and see them as a challenge, not a roadblock: navigating insurance, provider directories, and waitlists doesn’t scare you.
- Are tech-savvy (CRM, Google Workspace, EMR/EHRs); bonus for Airtable or HubSpot chops.
- Communicate crisply in writing and on calls.
- Are authorized to work in the U.S. and available for some 9 a.m.–8 p.m. ET coverage.
Bonus Points
- 2+ years in care navigation, case management, social work, or behavioral health.
- Bilingual (Spanish).
- MSW, MFT, MHC, RN, or similar degree or credential.
