Mount Michael Benedictine School, a Catholic Benedictine college-preparatory boarding and day school for young men, is seeking a Residential Dean for the 2026-2027 school year.

This is more than a supervision role - it is a formation role.

Rooted in the Benedictine values of Hospitality, Integrity, Community, Service, and Moderation, the Residential Dean lives in the dormitory and serves as a steady mentor and role model during the most formative years of a young man’s life.

Position Overview

The Residential Dean provides daily supervision, mentorship, and accountability within our male dormitory. This role blends mentorship and pastoral presence, structured discipline and accountability, faith formation, and community building.

Much of the impact in this role happens through consistent presence, including hallway conversations, study hall support, quiet hours, and one on one check ins.

The Residential Dean reports to the Dean of Students, and collaborates with faculty, coaches, and campus ministry.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor residential students
  • Uphold expectations related to conduct, academics, and community life
  • Support structured study hall and quiet hours
  • Address discipline and safety concerns
  • Encourage participation in spiritual and community life
  • Serve in an on-call rotation for evenings and weekends

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred (candidates actively pursuing one will be considered)
  • Experience working with adolescents strongly preferred
  • Commitment to Catholic education and Benedictine formation
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check

Male candidates only due to residence in male dormitories.
