Mental Health Therapist Children Families

Position Overview

The therapist will provide mental health therapy services to children, adolescents, and families. Clinicians maintain autonomy in their clinical approach while working within a supportive team focused on high-quality care.

Responsibilities

Provide individual, family, and play therapy to children and adolescents

Conduct mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans

Monitor client progress and adjust treatment strategies as needed

Collaborate with caregivers and support family involvement in treatment

Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation

Coordinate referrals and collaborate with community providers when appropriate

Maintain all licensure and ethical practice requirements

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field

Licensed in Iowa as LISW, LMHC, or equivalent (provisional licenses considered)

Experience working with children, adolescents, or family systems preferred

Strong clinical judgment and interpersonal skills

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
